Meeting Reflection Paper
The meeting was held in Room J12 on Tuesday 19th March 2013 at
1300. Saeed, as chairman, opened the meeting, which was to discuss the academic
and social problems faced by ADMC students, particularly those based at some
distance from the college here in Abu Dhabi.
I said that these students faced several problems, such as frequent
traffic accidents on busy roads, poor weather, especially for morning students,
and parking problems here on campus. Eissa suggested a system of car stickers
to ease parking problems but I thought the college could provide buses for
students to reduce the rush. Saeed mentioned that car-sharing was a possible
solution and I agreed with him. The next item on the agenda was the issue of
break times. All agreed that break timings were insufficient. Eissa suggested
different break times for different blocks to ease pressure on the canteen.
There was confusion as to why the canteen near F block was not open more often.
The final item on the agenda was the cost and quality of college laptops and
the frequent delays in delivery.
Everyone had his chance to give his opinion at the meeting. Saeed
was an effective chairman throughout the meeting and all participants interacted
with the meeting goals.
In conclusion, the meeting was successful, and I think that the
college will take our recommendations seriously, because they care about their
students, and they want the best for the future of our college.
